Flights to The Cook Islands Air New Zealand are the major airline flying into the Cook Islands. In 2002, Aloha Airlines opened a weekly North America service via Hawaii. If you are crossing the Pacific from either North America or Europe, Air New Zealand offer good stop-over options, with Tahiti and Fiji being the most economical. Air fares are obtainable through most flight booking agencies although in our experience, the most flexible routes are available only direct from Air New Zealand. Prices offered by Air New Zealand are generally the same, if not a little cheaper than the discount flight centres (although in the unlikely event that the government backed Air New Zealand went bankrupt, then there would be little or no protection for getting a refund unless you bought your own travel insurance or were offered such insurance when paying for your flight by credit card). Tourist visas are obtainable on arrival in the Cook Islands for a period of 30-days. Internal flights in the Cook Islands are provided exclusively by Air Rarotonga.
